Buying sleepwear for Valentines Day

So, you have decided to buy your wife, girlfriend, yourself some sleepwear for Valentine’s Day. A big decision but what to choose and how to get the right size?!

The most important step is to know that lovely persons’ sizeIt’s an important step to get right…. too large and she’ll be wondering if you think she’s really that big. Too small, and she’ll think you’re hinting that she needs to lose a few kilos’.

Fortunately, sizing is also the simplest step of all. The number one easiest thing is to just take a look inside her sleepwear drawer and take a look at her nighties or pyjamas to see what size she is currently buying.

Now that you’ve discovered her size, you can move on to determining her style. There are three things you want to take note of here: cut, fabric, and colour. Does she lean more to short silk nighties, thin straps or wider straps, prints or solids? Or is she a pyjama girl? As far as fabric, do you see a lot of cotton pyjamas, silk sleepwear or lace? While examining colour, is it mostly solids, pastels or prints?

Here is where you can step in and choose the perfect sleepwear gift. Browse through our online store Papinelle.com or pop into one of our boutiques and have a look at the options (keeping in mind that she prefers cotton pyjamas, or silk nighties). I always say the one that catches your eye first is likely to be the right one. Pure silk slips and robes are always a safe bet. Also make sure you pay attention to our signature floral prints such as the cotton silk Cherry Blossom pyjama set.

Finally, if absolutely nothing works, all is not lost. Instead, buy her a gift certificate!

Good luck and happy sleepwear shopping!
